Duplicates
This series grew out of a period when illness profoundly altered my perception of the world. It could be understood as a visual diary, tracing both physical and emotional experience. One of the main complications was persistent insomnia. At times, I went for days without proper sleep, which led to altered states of consciousness. My perception became unusually heightened, and I experienced the world with an intense sensitivity. Despite the physical and mental strain, everyday life continued. My responsibilities remained, and my children still needed my care and attention. The slow process of photographing became a form of healing. I worked with long-expired film, originally intended for duplicating slides under artificial light. Instead, I exposed it in daylight, which produced a distinctive blue tone. For me, this blue tint became a symbolic expression of the search for inner balance, peace, and silence. The enforced slowness of illness gradually revealed another way of being. Solitude ceased to feel like deprivation and became a space for attention, reflection, and quiet presence.
