Interconnections

This series encompasses roughly twenty years of my life. From the moment my first child was born, photography became an inseparable part of my everyday existence. It was woven into both my professional work and our family life at home. Just like my pots and pans, my camera was always close at hand. My children growing up, the small struggles and joys of daily life, the people dearest to me—all of this can be found in my archive of negatives, much like in the collections of many other parents who love to photograph.

Yet what feels especially important is that I also tried to capture myself—or rather, my inner life—throughout these years. Only much later did I come to realize how vital it is, amid everyday routines, not to lose sight of oneself and to remain aware of who you are, as much as that is ever possible.

This has been my most extensive and, to date, most significant project, culminating in an exhibition at the ISSP Gallery in Riga and a self-published book.
